PET Polytechnic College, Vallioor, in association with Bosch India Foundation, inaugurated the Automotive Service Technician (4-Wheeler) Training Programme on 3 September 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The programme was organized by the Department of Mechanical and Automobile Engineering with the objective of providing students with practical, industry-oriented training in four-wheeler automotive service and maintenance.

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Mr. D. Udaiyar, M.E., Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, PET Polytechnic College. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. I. Balasubramanian, M.E., Ph.D., Principal, PET Polytechnic College.

Dr. S. Tharvish Mohideen, Ph.D., Dean – Academics, PET Group of Institutions, delivered an informative session on “Course Highlights and Scope of Automotive Service Technicians”, highlighting the importance of technical skills and industry-oriented training for students pursuing careers in the automobile sector.

The Chief Guest, Mr. D. Manoj, M.Tech., Assistant Program Manager – Skill Development, Bosch India Foundation, Tirunelveli, addressed the gathering and emphasized the growing demand for skilled automotive service technicians and the importance of practical training in developing industry-ready professionals.

The programme was conducted in the presence of Mr. S. Mohamed Farook, Managing Trustee; Mr. S. Khaja Mohideen, Secretary; Mr. K. Mohamed Abdul Razak, Treasurer; Dr. S. Tharvish Mohideen, Dean – Academics; and Dr. I. Balasubramanian, Principal, PET Polytechnic College.

The training programme is designed to enhance students’ technical knowledge, practical skills, and employability through hands-on exposure to modern automotive service and maintenance practices. The initiative will help students develop the technical competence required for successful careers in the four-wheeler automobile service industry.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. R. Krishnaraj, B.E., Lecturer, Automobile Engineering, PET Polytechnic College.

The Bosch-supported training initiative marks an important step towards strengthening industry–institution collaboration and providing students with valuable practical skills for their future careers.
